A new look and some new treasures

Well I finally did it! I took down some more wallpaper border. This time it was in the LR. Its still up on 3 of the walls but this one is gone!!!! And it was replace with a pegrack made by my DH. He disappeared on saturday evening and came back in the house with this an hour later and said this is all that I had to work with so I hope you like it. Well, I love it. I got busy right away painting and sanding and he put it up Sunday for me. Then I had to scour the house for treasures to fill it. The baskets all came from the thrift store, the garland from my BFF-Robyn aka Primlish, and the sweet annie from ebay. So what do you think?


Now on to my new treasure I found today at the Amish store. I was just about finished looking and had to go around the store once more and boy am I glad that I did. I found this stitchery for $8.
Really didn't like the brown and gold frame, but I knew it had potential so I grabbed it and brought it home to work some magic. Since I love blue so much I figured why not!!! And with sandpaper and brush I went to town. And here is the end result.
I love how it came out...look at the picture on the stitchery up close. It is a saltbox home, George and Martha Washington, 2 soldiers and the saying Ye Olden Days. It's a new favorite of mine!!!And here it is up on the wall with a little shelf my dad made when he was in 8th grade shop. A true treasure to me!!!!
Here's the other treasures I found today.
The book I found is called Child Rhymes and was given as a gift to Edith Green from Ruth King for Christmas in 1921. I can only imaagine the joy it must have brought to that little girl.
The illustrations in this book are simply beautiful. Books will always hold a special place in my heart. Must be the teacher in me.
This picture is from the rhyme Little Orphan Annie. Isn't it just the cutest. I can't wait to sit down and read some of these tonight. Hope you all had a wonderful day and enjoyed the weather whatever God blessed you with today!

Swing is fixed and goodies for sale!

View from my deck...Isn't GOD GRAND!!!
Thanks to everyone who commented on my swing....My hubby came to the rescue after work last night and was able to put it back together. My kids think a bear tried to sit on it and flipped it over...possibility but most likely NOT!

Also wanted to let you all know that I have listed 2 gatherings on my selling blog so skip on over and check them out. I have lots more things to list and will try and add more daily...not promising anything cause I know ME!!!

Why???????????

So I got up this morning and happening to look out my kitchen window and this is what I saw!!!!!!!!!!!Now why would someone do this. My swing is very heavy so I know the wind didn't knock it over it was pushed. I hope whoever did this got rapped by the swing!!!!!!And is hurting today. Hubby is at work so he said let it go till he gets home to see if can be fixed! Makes me so darn mad that people see the need to destroy others property.

LR Tweaking

Well after I took down the wallpaper in the kitchen I did alittle tweaking. And you all know where that leads....more tweaking. The LR was next. Border is still up in there but I did move some things around. Here's a peek at what I did.





Had to add a picture of me and my "baby girl" Sable. She got all prettied up today at the groomers....isn't she so pretty!!!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far...been alittle chilly here in PA but I think we were spoiled alittle early with all the gorgeous weather a week ago.

2 Borders down!!!! Yeah!!!

So I spent most of this week working on getting those borders down in the hallway and kitchen...of course I had to repaint but, since I am trying to save $...I decided to just use the paint I already had. So the walls are still a soft green in the hallway and tan in the kitchen. What a difference! My ceilings look higher-even though they're not! tee hee...a girl can dream can't she...







Had to do some tweaking too while all this redoing was going on. Here's what I have done so far...let me know what ya think...not sure if I am happy with the shelf above my doorway yet. Also redid my crock bench. Crock and broom I got last weekend while out junking.

One down....2 to go?????

So if you looked at my last post...you'll see that I was undecided about taking down my borders. Well today I came home and tackled the one in the first picture from my last post. That seemed to be the most logical one and I thought the easiest one. I never realized how much glue they use on them. It took me about 2hours to get it all down. It was up there for a few years and apparently I put it up and THEN decided to paint
See what I mean!!!! So now I gotta decide on a paint color...either paint it the green or go neutral...more work for me!!! But I gotta love change! Funny,my neighbor was over today and she said...why do you do this to yourself? And I said I like to change things around...makes me happy...she never changed anything since her and her hubby built their house. He has since passed and now she doesn't want anything to change. Not sure I could ever be like that...she still has paneling same furniture arrangements and same paint colors. So how about you gals and guys does it make you happy changing your homes decor and why do you do it?

Borders or No Borders

Hello blogging buddies!!! I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!
Well with spring finally here I want to freshen up the house a bit and am need of some advice. I've been looking at everyones houses and am not seeing any borders anymore. So I was wondering what your thoughts are...want to take down the borders and change some things around...Should the borders go? Hugs ♥T
