Once a tweaker always a tweaker....

All you prim folks know what this sickness of tweaking is like! When you get something new you just have to play for awhile....so that's what I did today. While the cookies were baking and the Steelers were WINNING!!!! I tweaked and had fun too I might add. Now I know some of my friends think I'm nuts, Melissa, but I just can't help myself. So I rearranged my kitchen window and like it much better now...or at least FOR NOW! Who knows about tomorrow....teehee!
Hope everyone has a wonderful week! Hugs ♥T

A little rearranging since yesterday

Early Birthday and Christmas goodies!

Happy Saturday all! Hope you are enjoying this day God has blessed you with. I got to do alittle more decorating today because I got some goodies from my dear friend Robyn. Lookie here....

She sent me this wonderful Santa Belsnickle...I think I may have to start a collection!
Isn't he just the cutest! This lil' snowman found a home at my kitchen sink, so he can watch me do the dishes!
The gingerbread man was grabbed by my daughter and  he found his way to our tree. I think he's quite happy there.

Isn't this card beautiful...just had to frame it! Also got the George from her too!
Thanks so much GF!!! You made my day!    Hope all of you enjoy this weekend and have a great week!

Didn't start yet

Still waiting to pull out my Christmas decorations, but was wondering how many of you decorate your bedrooms for Christmas? I have in the past and just wasn't sure about doing it this year. Would love to see photos too if you do decorate.
Have a great weekend friends!

Still misty...

I seem to have been in the "fog" as of late and in "sour" mood. This time of the year is always hard for me but especially harder this year with my Dad's passing in July. Now I know in my heart that he would not like to see me wallowing in self-pity about somethng I had no control over, so it is time to get out of this "stinkin' thinkin' mood and start living again. This is not to say that I won't have to pick myself up time and time again but NOW is the time!
Thank you Linda from Behind my Red door for lettiing me share this....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: "I am blind, please help." There were only a few coins in the hat.
A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words. Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, "Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?"
The man said, "I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way. "I wrote: 'Today is a beautiful day; but I cannot see it.'"
Both signs told people that the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign reminded people how fortunate they were to have their sight. Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?
Moral of the Story:
Be thankful for what you have. Be creative. Be innovative. Think differently and positively. When life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, show life that you have 1000 reasons to smile. Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear. Keep the faith and drop the fear.
It's a beautiful thing to see a person smiling.
But even more beautiful is knowing that you are the reason for the smile!
Faith is not about everything turning out OK; Faith is about being OK no matter how things turn out.
My hope is that I remember God is in control and all I need to do is trust in him.
Hugs my friends,
Well it's such a beautiful day here that I thought I'd wash some windows in the kitchen and go from there. Now that the kitchen in complete disarray it's time to start decluttering. I took down all the pumpkin goodies and am now just dusting and rearranging things to make way for Christmas decor. However, hubby and the kiddos are not ready for that decor yet so I am just rearranging some everyday prims. I really have way to much stuff and really need to weed out to just favorites or at least pack it away in totes for a rainy day. I am always amazed at how much 'stuff' I have and yet I feel the NEED for more. WHAT IS UP WITH THAT???? Do any of you get like that? Well, I must get back to my mess and get it somewhat put back together before hubby comes home from work.
Have a great weekend friends!
Display chain Make-do's
Welcome Tuesday once again! This is fast becoming my favorite day of the week. Misi's display chain theme for this week is a make-do. Again my brain went into overdrive and couldn't come up with anything! So after looking around the house when I came home from work this is what I came up with. Not sure if these qualify as make-do's but they all have a special place in my heart!
This is a picture from my kitchen cabinets. You see when my kitchen was built by my neighbor back in the 50's he worked at Piper Aircraft. He was a carpenter on the side and of course in those days nothing was thrown away. While painting my cabinets years ago, I discovered this printing on the bottom of one of the shelves. Well, Mr N. had used an old box from Piper as one of my shelves.He MADE DO with what he had. Piper and Mr. N are no longer with us but I have alittle piece of them in my home.
I love my make-do banana holder that my dad made for me. He was so proud of these that he made everyone in the family one and it does keep my bananas from turning brown. Thanks Dad!
Another make-do that was my Dad's was his candle keeper and match keeper. He used this while he worked in the coal mine to keep his candle and matches dry. It still has coal dirt on it and sits proudly in my bedroom on a shelf.
Hope everyone enjoys a look into my past and things that I cherish. I so love seeing everyone else's displays! Have an awesome week!
